Abstract The parasitic disease of fish constitute the most common problem in fish farms in Egypt, different types of parasites affect fish in freshwater fish farms especially intensive fish culture. The environment around fish especially water used as stable media for occurrence and enhancement of aquatic animal also contain some snails which act as intermediate host. The fish may be act as intermediate host or may be act as final host and these parasites cause severe losses in fish yield and are of zoonotic importance for human being and carnivorous animals. The present work deals with the study of endoparasites which infected three species of the most common popular Egyptian freshwater fish, Clarias lazera, Oreochromis aureus and Oreochromis niloticus collected from concrete and earthen fishponds of Central laboratory for Aquaculture Reasearch at Abbassa, Sharkia Governorate in the period extended from the beginning of Jan. 2002 till the end of Dec. 2002 |
