Abstract

The aim of our work is to evaluate the results of posterolateral in treatment of spondylolisthesis using ISOLA implant system.
On conclusion, the present study analyzed the effect of the posterolateral fusion using autoggenous bone graft in adjuvant of pedicular rod screw or plate screw for adult patients with symptomatic lumbar spondylolisthesis. Analysis of the results after an average follows up of 12 months giving the follow of 12 months giving the following conclusion:
To obtain a satisfactory surgical outcome necessitates a good patient selection thorough preoperative investigation, including a MRI study, which must be parallel with the clinical findings.
Operatively a thorough preparation of the posterlateral gutters and good grafting technique are mandatory and rigid fixation with a rod screw or plate screw system improved the fusion rate and consequently the clinical outcome.
An instrumented poster lateral arthrodesis in combination with a Gill procedure and nerve root decompression results in a high rate of fusion and satisfactory clinical success.
The reticular screw system used in all cases of this thesis was the ISOLA pedicle Screw system. It has low versatility in contrast to the other available systems in the market. The associated metal failure encountered during this work was so little partially due to lack of following up of our instructions by the patients.
