Abstract
In the present work, the effect of two i/m injections of Boldenone undecylenate at a dose level of 5 mg /kg b. wt given at interval of 21 days in male and female rabbits were investigated. The obtained results were as follows.
1- Effect of Boldenone undecylenate on the growth performance of male and female rabbits.
The obtained results demonstrated that Boldenone undecylenate induced a significant increase in the growth rate of the treated rabbits in comparison with the control.
It was found that Boldenone undecylenate produced a significant increase in the average daily gain in comparison with the control.
It was found that Boldenone undecylenate improved feed conversion in the treated rabbits.
The obtained results demonstrated that consumption of 9 kg feed produced 1 kg increase in body weight of control rabbits. Rabbits treated with i/m injections of Boldenone undecylenate 5 mg /kg b.wt given at interval of 21 days showed I kg increase in body weight following consumption of 6 kg feed.
The feed efficiency in treated male rabbits increased three times as compared to the control meanwhile, the female treated rabbits, has showed an increase in the feed efficiency as four times as compared with the control.
The effect of two i/m injections of Boldenone undecylenate 5 mg /kg b. wt given at interval of 21 days on selected biochemical parameters of male and female rabbits were investigated .
It was found that Boldenone undecylenate induced a significant increase in serum level of testosterone and calcium of treated male rabbits in comparison with the control. Boldenone undecylenate induced insignificant effects on serum level of estrogen and FSH. Also, it was found that Boldenone undecylenate induced a significant decrease in serum level of testosterone and calcium of treated female rabbits in comparison with the
