Abstract 1) 17759 slaughtered food animals included 2260 of camels, 9245 of cattle, 4252 of buffaloes, 1015 of sheep and 987 of goats were examined for echinococcosis. 2) The percentage of infestation with hydatid cysts in camels, cattle, buffaloes, sheep and goats attained is l8.847,O.O7%,0.l67,O.6Y, and 0.1% respectively. 3) The incidence of hydatid cyst in camel lungs, liver, spleen, is 84.97%, 4.22°I, 1.64% respectively and. in both lungs and liver, lungs and spleen, liver and spleen, are 2.8l7, l.87Z,l.64°L respectively, while it is 2.8ld/ in lung, liver and spleen collectively. 4) The shapes of collected hydatid cysts from different organs in different carcasses are rounded, ovel or variable shapes, distributed both on the surface and parynchyma. ) The mean dimensions of the lung hydatid cysts in camels are 23X2OX14 m.m with a mean size of 13.9ml. Microscopical examination of lung hydatid cysts revealed that 59% fertile and 41% sterile. |
