Abstract

As the time changes from an era of mass production to one of mass customization, and as customer demands change from being a slave of fashion to wanting products and styles that reflect his own unique personality, the industry has been moving toward an apparel-on-demand environment based on rapid response. This requires decreasing the time gap between determining body measurements and delivering a garment that fits them properly.
‎A detailed study was made to indicate the percentages of the most human
‎ . ,
‎fitting problems that may be found in’ Egyptian figures, and that was by taking a sample of one thousand Egyptian figures from the special tailoring department. The amount of alteration produced to solve these fitting problems where measured and analyzed.
‎In order to solve both the time consuming and garment fitting problems of individualized tailoring, a lot of research has gone into developing numbers of solutions to solve problems encountered from special tailoring industry. Drafting patterns for individual figures, altering patterns manually or automatically, and identifying different body types are examples of solutions. The developing and testing of these solutions is still in its infancy, yet it is already possible to create a system that can provide well designed fitted garments that will increase customer satisfaction particularly for people outside the normal size range.
