Abstract In the present work , about five hundred and ninety eight weaned mice were used and divided into 36 groups which were as follow Five groups for SAD rabies virus propagation , 2 groups for virus inoculation both intracerebrally and intramuscularily , 5 groups for virus inoculation intra - cerebrally with each of the antiviral agents ( Interferon Rifampicin , Imuran ) , 5 groups for virus inoculation intramuscular with the same antiviral agents and 16 groups for virus titration throughout the experiments. Two groups were considered as control groups. Propagation of the SAD rabies virus in mice brain indicated that by successive serial passages , the infectivity titre of the virus was increased at the 4 Jj passage where the titre reached 1Oe MLD / 0.03 ml. The intracerebral and intramuscular virus inoculation lead to the appearance of rabies syndrome in inoculated mice which were represented by harsh coat , off food , arched back and then followed by paralysis and death. The virus titre reached 1Oe MLDSO / 0.03 ml. |
