Abstract

Ectopic pregnancy is a major gynecological problem, which affect a large segment of fertile population all over the world. Its incidence has been increasing in the recent years. The complications from ectopic gestation are major causes of maternal morbidity and mortality during early pregnancy. Factors that have been implicated in the pathogenesis of ectopic pregnancy includes increased prevalence of PID, tubal sterilization, tubal pelvic surgery, use of IUDs, and the use of low doses progestational agents as contraceptive methods. Tubal ectopic pregnancy account for more than 95% of all ectopic gestations. Most of cases of tubal pregnancy are now diagnosed before rupture while the patients are minimally symptomatic, by the use of sensitive (JHCG assay, transvaginal monograph, and diagnostic laparoscopy. The management of tubal ectopic pregnancy has evolved over the years with a definite trend toward more conservative techniques .
