Abstract
One of the most serious problems encountered in fish farming is the difficulty of obtaining fry in large numbers for catfish breeding programs on commercial scale. The main problems include:
1- Catfish oocytes have sticky layer which adhere them together thus preventing proper aeration and lower egg hatchability.
2- The need of obtaining large number of mature oocytes whether through induction of spawning or through in vitro maturation and their subsequent fertilization with proper amount of milt to obtain large number of fry suitable for intensive catfish farming. The present study was undertaken to study the possible use of some hormones to induce oocyte maturation in vitro and to find a suitable method to overcome the problem of egg adherence.
The catfish breeding programs , as well as the difficulty of obtaining seed of the most important problems facing aquaculture for those types of fish on the economic scale to produce large numbers of seeds , as well as the most important of these problems :
1 - get a sufficient quantity of semen from the testicle .
2 - those fish eggs covered with a sticky layer , which reduces the rate and hatching eggs are not subjected to any of the transactions.
3 - rotting eggs and not فقسة after the incubation process .
But this has been such a study to discuss how to solve problems and get the highest rate for the production of seed for this kind of fish.
The study also included the impact of certain hormones on the degree of maturity of the eggs outside the body and determine the best .
