Abstract The material included in this study comprised 100 buffaloes internal genitalia (ovaries, uterus, uterine tubes and vagina) in the different reproductive stages. They are collected from local slaughter houses. The arterial system of the internal genitalia was injected through the ovarian, uterine and vaginal arteries by different materials including Gum milk “latex” coloured red with carmIne, 40 % barium sulphate for rad— iograpb.y and technovit. The obtained results of this work could be summar— ized in the following points:— The uteru.s of buffalo was mainly supplied by the uterine artery in addition to the ovarian and vagina]. arteries, The ovarian artery terminated by bifurcation into R. uterinus and a common stem for the R. ovarica and R. tubarius in different reproductive stages. Along its course, the ovarian artery was closely applied to the ventral aspect of the uteroovarian vein, therefor the present work suggested that the leutolytic pathway in the buffalo was of a local unilateral pathway. The angle of the bifurcation of the A. ovarica varied according to the stage and age of the animal. |
