Abstract 1) Eleven native breed goats of 3 — 6 months old were used in this study. They were divided into 3 groups, the l two groups each consisted of 4 goats and the 3 group of 3goats. Each animal of the 1- group was inoculated with 1 ml of the locally preparei RV? vaccine. The 2 group was ‘iacci— nated with 2 ml of the same vaccine, and 3 group was left as contact controls. Three months after the l- dose the inoculation was repeated with the same lot of vaccine and one month from the booster dose, all the vaccinated animals as well as the control animals were inoculated with a fixed amount of virulent RVF virus. 2) The animals were bled at fixed intervals and SN, CF, MI, IFA, AGP tests were done on the individual sera. Results of the SNT revealed that, they were detectable after the 7- day post—vaccination reaching the peak after 30 days and then declining. After the booster dose there was another rise of SNI and again a second rise after the challenge inoculation. The 11.1. test revealed the same picture as the SNT. The CF antibodies started to appear somewhat later |
