Abstract Ectopic pregnancy has become a surgical epidemic during the last 2 decades. This condition is a significant cause of maternal mortality. A clear understanding of the contributing factors responsible for ectopic pregnancies and of effective and modern methods for their earlier diagnosis is essential. Ectopic pregnancy has clinical manifestations which are highly variable. Therfore, the goals remain to diagnose the condition as early as possible to minimize anatomic distortion, in order to prevent further clinical deterioration and to stop progression of the condition. |
