Abstract
To evaluate role of CA125 in the assessment of conservative medical treatment of ectopic pregnancy with single dose of methotrexate.
This study was carried out in casualty and outpatient clinic of Ain Shams University Maternity Hospital .
It include 15 pregnant patients with undisturbed ectopic pregnancy at time of presentation who were managed by conservative medical treatment with single dose of methotrexate.
After following up of these patients, it was found that ectopic pregnancy was resolved by methotrexate treatment in 8 patients (about 53%) and the remaining 7 patients (about 47%) needed surgical interference either due to persistent high titre of β -HCG or due to disturbance of the ectopic.(surgical group).
Results demonstrated that CA 125 level had no significant prognostic value in predicting success of methotrexate .in treatment of ectopic pregnancy.
CA125 level did not have significant prognostic value in the assessment of conservative of methotrxate in treatment of ectopic pregnancy.
