Abstract
In this study, 20 male patients were classified into two groups. The first was treated by Bassini repair and the second by Lichtenstein tension free repair. The results showed that the Lichtenstein tension free repair is simple easily learned and taught and less painful technique. It allowed prompt resumption of unrestricted physical activity, rapid mobilization from the bed postoperatively and short postoperative hospital stay. No serious complications and no mesh has had to be removed. No recurrences have been identified in the two techniques.
