Abstract
The study includes a detailed history of myocutaneous flap, then the principles and technique of myocutaneous flap are discussed with emphasis on the patterns of muscle circulation. Applications of myocutaneous flap deals with more than 15 muscles used as myocutaneous flaps. Many of these muscles were only recently used as myocutaneous flaps. Separate chapter dealt with the free myocutaneous flaps which began to take a wide range of applications during the last 10 years for their advantages over the myocutaneous flaps. Lastly, the complication of myocutaneous flaps were reported.
