Abstract 100 Samples (from each air and water ) were collected from slaughter hall in various districts of some selected jyptian abattoirs and examined bacteriologically mycologically to evaluate their sanitary quality. The cheived results were as follows The bacteraoloical examination of air and water samples revealed the following results 0 The overall mean of the total bacterial count at 37 C was 4390.63 ±1.21 bacteria per liter of examined air sample and 5554.72 ±1.21 bacteria per ml of tested water samples. The mean value of the most probable numbers of coliform organisms per liter of air sample was 5.14 ±1.35 nd 164.69 ±1.35 organisms per 100 ml of water sample. The mean value of the faecal streptococcal count was 8.78 ±1.30 bacteria per later of air and 39.76 ±1.30 per 100 ml of examined water samples. The potentially pathogenic isolated bacteria were: a. from air samples : Pseudomonas aeruqinosa ( 32 96 ). Klebsiella ies (30%) .Streptococcus faecium ( 2796 ) . E. coli 25 Enterobacter (24 96). Pseudomonas fluorescens ( 24 6 oteus morgani.i 21 ) . Staphylococci coagulase ÷ve ? . Staphylococci coaaulase —ye (19 %. Streptococcus Lulis var faecalis ( 18 96 ) . Proteus rettgeri ( 17 96 |
