Abstract

This study was a prospective study conducted in the gynecology clinic of Ain Shams University Hospital.
- 50 cases were be selected who were menopausal and not received medical treatment for menopause (hormone replacement therapy), and complaining of symptoms.
- Full history and full clinical examination was done for every case also all the women participated in the study had vaginal cytology through a pap smear, and detection of vaginal pH through pH indicator strips.
- A composition of royal jelly Appis Mellifora Remarine, Trefle, Lavand was given as a vaginal preparation cream to every patient and she instructed to use it B.I.D. and follow-up weak later.
- After one weak of using of the compositions full history and full clinical examination was done for every case also second pap smear and vaginal pH indicator strips was done.
- The results of this study had shown that; after using of royal jelly composition, most symptoms disappear completely and the cytology shows that significant increase in the maturation index of the superficial cells and significant decrease in the parabasal codes the pH indicator strips after using of the composition had shown significant decrease in the vaginal pH.
- From the results of this study, it can be deducted the composition of royal jelly Appis Mellifora Remarine, Trefle, Lavand have a potent effect in decreasing symptoms of atrophic vaginitis increasing the maturation index of superficial cell and decreasing vaginal pH to normal value that inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria and enhance the growth of neural commercials that keep the vaginal pH, microflora within the normal non harmful limits.
