Abstract
One hundred and seventy five Specific Pathogen Free chicks (SPF chicks) were devided into 7 groups to study the interaction between intermediate IBDV D78 and vvIBDV Giza2008. Three week old chicken were allotted into groups of 25 chicken each. Group A ”GI”, received
Giza2008 simultaneously with D78; Group B ”G2”, received Giza2008 16
hours after D78; Group C ”G3”, received Giza2008 24 hours after D78;
Group D ”G4”, received Giza2008 48 hours after D78; Group E ”G5”,
received only D78; Group F ”G6”, each chicken received only Giza2008 and
Group G ”G7”, negative control. Giza2008 and D78 were administered with
a dose of 0.2 ml I02EID50/chicken and one dose in 0.2 ml saline/chicken
respectively. In the first and second day PI, G6 showed ruffled feathers,
depression, tremors, whitish diarrhea and decrease feed intake. Mortality
was 60%. G5 showed neither abnormal clinical sign nor mortality.
