Abstract Nasopharyngeal carcinomas are of particular importance because their presence may not be suspected until they are well advanced, diagnosis may present problems and curative surgical excision is not possible. 114 patients with NPC admitted to the Alexandria University Hospital in the last ten years from 1973 to 19SS were studied in this clinicopathological work. NPC constituted 1.6% of all malignant tumours in different sites of the body and 5.57. of malignant tumours of all head and neck malignancies. They were more common in males than in females in a ratio of 2.9 : lf with high proportion below 20 years of age and a heighst incidence was in the sixth decade (22.8%). |
