Abstract This study consists of three sessions The first session is a literature survey about the recent researches and techniques to remove the heavy metal ions from the wastewater mainly those dealing with natural materials and wastes The second session is the experimental part, which is divided to two parts The first part explains the pretreatment of the adsorbent materials as for Eichhorina crassipes, the plant was collected and cut and washed with tape water followed by deionized water and dried and grinded For activated carbon, it is prepared from Cotton stem by the chemical activation using H3P04 85% concentration For Hebba clay, it was collected and washed with tape water followed by deionized water and dried and grinded Also the first part explains the laboratory analyses, which were the pH, electrical conductance, total dissolved solids, chemical oxygen demand and heavy metal ions content The second part explains the batch adsorption experiments, which included the effect of weight of adsorbent material, contact time, pH of the solution and the concentration of adsorbate It also includes the description of all instruments used in such experiments |
