Abstract MDC is a CC chemokine that binds to CCR4 receptor leading to chemotactic migration of dendritic cells and T lymphocytes (mainly Th2 cells) to site of inflammation. JRA is a chronic inflammatory joint disease occuring in children before the age of sixteen. Many factors are involved in the pathogenesis of this autoimmune disorder, including cytokines and chemokines. Few studies investigated the role of MDC in children with J¬RA. This cross-sectional study is therefore aiming to elucidate and understand the role of MDC as a representative of Th2 cell activation, in the pathogenesis of JRA by examining its serum levels in these children. Also, to evaluate the correlation between its serum level, and activity and severity of the disease. |
