Abstract The main subject of the present study deals with the chemistry and antimicrobial activity of some 5-hydroxybergapten (I) and 5-hydroxyisopimpinellin (II) derivatives. The carbon atoms 5, 6 and double bond of furan ring of those oxygen heterocyclic compounds is the main responsible for their chemical reactivities. Therefore, the aim of the present work is the synthesize of some new derivatives from 5-hydroxybergapten (I) and 5-hydroxyisopimpinellin (II) substituted at 5- and 6-position and to test their antimicrobial activities. |
