Abstract
The present study aimed at studying the biological effect of a free-radical
producing herbicide, paraquat on male albino rats. The effects were studied by
analyzing enzymes as GSH-Px, SOD, and LDH, in addition to detection of
TEARS as indicators of LPO, in various tissues after single-dose treatment with
[ the tested herbicide. Changes in the normal values of the analyzed enzymes and
i TEARS detected in the various tissues indicated damage. Results were confirmed
I by undergoing histopathological examinations of the treated lung tissue
I specifically. The lung is the target organ of the tested herbicide.
