Abstract
The objective of this study is to present an appropriate method to protect any zone at the coast from erosion hy comparing hetween many different kinds of detached breakwaters and the extent of their effect on shoreline and to present equations used to calculate the longshore current velocity at mid zone of surf-zone.
In this research, the detached breakwaters are to be considered, but the breakwater length, the gaps, the distance from shoreline, and the wave angle are to be controlled. Also some examples are to be mentioned and the shoreline profiles are to be drawn using the (FORTRAN) program [BREAKW A TER] where the coordinates (X, Y) for shoreline are to be acquitted. The comparison between this research and another ones are to he shown with the finding
