Abstract - This work was designed to find and observe the effect of the tangential incisions on the curvature and refraction on the cornea of pigmented rabbits. - The study was carried out on eighteen pigmented rabbits, they were divided into six equal groups according to the size of the optical zone and the number of the tangential incisions on each side of it, each group included six eyes, five eyes were operated upon and the sixth was left as a control. Group one: included five eyes where one tangential cut on each side of the three mm optical zone was placed. Group two: included fiveeyes where two tangential cuts on each side of 3mm optical zone were done. Group three: included five eyes where three tangential cuts on each side of 3mm optical zone were done. Group four: included five eyes where one tangential cut on each side of 5mm optical zone was done. Group five: included five eyes where two tangential cuts on each side of 5mm optical zone size were done. |
