Abstract

In this study, a software program has been carried out to perform one of the most common applications in Surveying and Geodesy, which is the Adjustment of Geodetic Networks. The programming language used in creating this program is ”VISUAL BASIC 6.0 (Professional Edition)”
‎It was aimed in constructing the program to have it able to perform the adjustment of the angular observations of any figure of networks with any number of fixed stations, any number of new stations and any number of angular observations, therefore the program computation was based on the ”Variation of Coordinates” method, which is one of the least squares adjustment techniques. Other Two important aims were highly regarded in constructing the program; the first one is to make a good use of the advantages of ”VISUAL BASIC”, in particular its efficient GUI (Graphical User Interface) to provide the user a simple and fast way to enter the input data and to read the resulted output data. The second aim is to achieve the highest possible accuracy in the resulted data. A general description of the program is presented with some technical information and a detailed illustration for operating the program by the user.
‎The given illustration of using the program is supported by two numerical examples as practical applications for trying out the program. The procedures of adjusting two Triangulation Networks using the program are illustrated in details in this study, and the numerical results of each of them are displayed as obtained from the program and are verified either by comparing them with the results obtained from the references or by checking their conformity with the local and angular conditions of the network.
