Abstract
The breast is an organ of reproduction and therefore it seems logical to accept the position that disease of the breast are the responsibility of the obstetrician/gynecologist (Marchant, 2001).
Gynecologists continue to assume a role of over increasing importance in diagnosing and treating breast diseases in women (Chalase et al., 1994).
Breast cancer is a major public health problem of great interest and importance to physicians in a variety of specialties (Harries, 1999).
