Abstract

The changing in current health care system and prediction for future health care reform, the curriculum paradigm presently used in nursing is antithetical to developing the kind of nursing needed for the future. Therefore an innovation curriculum based on realities, critical thinking and ethical decision making required as a basic component for students practice. critical thinking was described as being both reasonable and reflective thinking about nursing problems without a single solution and is focused on deciding what to believe or do. While ethical decision described as a rational in a situation involving conflicting alternatives. The present study has four aims. The first is to assess nursing and non-nursing courses at curses at curriculum of Faculty of nursing Menofyia University. The second is to assess those students ethical decision making ability.The third aim is to assess those students ethical decision making ability . The fourth aim is to propose curriculum project to integrate critical thinking and ethical decision making items across some courses content of curriculum in Faculty of Nursing Menofia University. This study was conducted at Faculty of Nursing Menofia University in selected three academic years, ( second, third and fourth year). There are two categories of subjects in this study . The first category was the academic students in second, third and fourth year. The second category was the educators who teach in second year, third and fourth year. The number of students was 475 and the educators were 40. there are 157 students in the second year, 165 students in the third year and 153 students in the fourth year. The educators were classified into nursing educators (27) and non-nursing educators(13). Data were collected by using five types of tools : a critical thinking questionnaires, ethical decision making situations, constructive interview questions, curriculum of Faculty of Nursing Menofia University and critical thinking and ethical decision making content outlines.
