Abstract Fluoride occurs in varying concentrations in rocks, soil water air plants and animals both naturallyand as a consequence of human activitysuch as agricultural and industrial processes. Small amounts of sodium fluoride are added to toothpaste to prevent dentall caries as well as to drinking water for the purpose of its clarification.
