Abstract
in this thesis, recommendations concerning manufacture of rails steel are given. relations binding hardness, tensile strength and fatigue stress are developed. the contact stresses between wheel and rail are calculated and a proposed design of new sections of rails is given. experimental results are obtained for the distribution of stresses in the rails (510)
