Abstract The main objective of the present work is to determine experimentaly the burning velocity of some liquid fuels and to determine its variation with one of the main controlling factors, which is the air to fuel ratio. The investigated fuels are benzene (regular andsuper), kerosene and red alcohol. the bunse Burner method is used for the determination Of the burning velocity. the inner cone of the Flame is observed by direct photography, and the burning velocity is calculated by means of the truncated-cone method. an apparatus Is designed and construcred to provide a laminar, stationary and symmetrical flame of a mixture of known rate and composition. Results obtained are presented in curves showing the variation of the variation of burning velocity with mixture strengh |
