Abstract
The economic environment nowadays is very complex and has wide range of inter relationships. The business economist studies the role of firms in this process:
• How they respond to demand.
• How they combine their inputs to achieve output in the most efficient way.
• How they decide the amount to produce and the price to charge their customers.
• And how they make their investment decisions.
Not only this, the business economist also considers the wider
environment in which firms operate and how they are affected by it. He
studies the effects of changes in the national and international economic
climate, such as upswings and downswings in the economy, and changes
in interest rates and exchange rates.
The complexity of national and international economic environment made it hard for decision-makers to comprehend and forecast with some precision future changes. For this purpose computerized systems could be used to help improving the decision making process.
This thesis has defined and introduced Macroeconomics with emphasis on some of the variables to be dealt with such as Decision Support Systems using Macroeconomics Simulation Models
